  • FUEL ECONOMY FOR 120 V6 5 SPEED AUTO PETROL AFTER LIFT AND A/T's

Just thought Id post up my latest fuel figures for anyone about to purchase a 120 V6 or some one who may want to compare. I did a trip to Cootamundra and back, round trip was 870k with just my wife and I, no aircon on, sat on the speed limit all the way which was mostly 110k, minimal luggage (stayed in motel), 42 psi all round. I then ran around town for another 314k so total all up was 1184k. Which worked out to 14L per 100k.......Im happy with that. Will see if fitting the snorkel and new fuel filter makes any difference next trip.....

And just incase any one wants to know the fuel gauge needle was sitting on the red but to the bottom of it with low fuel light on....Cheers Steve

Sounds about right. I get 15 to 16 around town with 70 profile rubber.
2007 GXL V6 - ARB Bullbar with LED lights, snorkel, extractors, 2 1/4" dual exhaust, K&N filter, dimpled/slotted rotors, headrest dvd players, Ebay Satnav/reverse camera, GME 3100TX, Tigerz11 Side awning on custom brackets with Maxtrax mounts, 300W Invertor, ARB Underbody protection, Lightbar and STZ 265/70 tyres.
Wish list in order I'll get them: Sliders, 2" lift, E-locker, Winch bar with winch.

Steve, mine has the lift, sovereign bar, BFG ATs, snorkel and always has 4 roof bars on the roof rails and in similar travel will get into the 13s if I can restrain my right foot! Light footing it as much as possible on Sydney's outskirts returns 15-16. A recent trip down to the south coast saw 14.00 without a trailer and coming back with a 750-800 kg camper in tow at the same speeds saw 18. .....and of course petrol is cheaper than diesel. ;] Neil

          Sounds about right.

'05 V6 with Sovereign bar, same profile ATs, lift, roof bars, roof rack, awning, rear drawers full of tools gets me an average of 15 week to week.

Seems to be a common number. I average about 14 to 15 around town with 5 kids, bull bar, roof racks etc. including a couple of trips up and down the Toowoomba range. Its important to know these figures due to the touchiness of the fuel gauge!
