  • high mount winch

Just wanted to see some pics

    Thanks Niall

With an ARB bar, you'd have to chop the top out of the bar which would probably weaken it so you'd have to brace it somehow. Nice winch but stick to a low mount on a 120. Unless of course you can fabricate like the Fast N Loud guys...

I'd say most of the off the shelf 120 bars would need to be cut to fit a high mount. Other issue may be bonnet clearance when opening and goodbye spot lights.

its a standard black grille so i am not to concerned about cutting it and my bar needs a respray so cutting it isn't a worry either.
I have a ironman winch bar with a warn m10000 at the moment. I removed the grille before and took some measurements and i dont think i would need to do much cutting

If you plan to actually use the winch then definitely make it fit, they are just so much better than low mounts. Downside of course is the weight and size. With some cutting and bracing of the bar and grill you should be ok I would have thought.

If i do it i will take a heap of pics and put it up. I know how good the winch is, i have another on my patrol with air free spool

Wouldn't cutting and bracing the bar void any ADR compliance? It might affect your insurance too.

I had a warm high mount winch, looked at fitting it to my Prado but it was just too hard, I sold it and bought a low mount.

                Cheers Andrew
