Has Ironman picked up their standards??

Hi I am looking at buying a bull bar and snorkel for my 120.
I have seen and like the ironman bars and snorkel but my research so far said stay away but most threads are from 2010-2012.
I am curious if they have picked up there standards over the last few years,
Has anyone purchased a bar or snorkel off them lately if you have what do you think of the quality?
I am expecting a few negative replies saying this has been covered before but I can't find any recent threads.

Hi Tim,
From my own personal experience, I think that Ironman bars are great value for money.
I had one fitted to my old Pathfinder a few years ago, so when it came time to buy one for my Prado i had no hesitation in buying another one, but decided to fit it myself.
Quality wise it think they are just as good ( if not better ) than anything on the market, and for value that are hard to beat.
For just under $1300 you get the commercial deluxe bar which includes the driving lights fitted as standard, which is way cheaper than the ARB equivalent (for example) which does not include the light kit. ( please don't shoot the messenger )...
As a user of Ironman products I would also recommend their winches if you have the need for one.
Just for the record Ironman winches are the only ones now fitted to emergency vehicles in NSW.
Apparently they tested all winches a few years ago and the Ironman ones came up trumps (so I'm told by a very reputable installer in Sydney who fits them constantly).

Well I just fitted an Ironman deluxe bullbar and I am happy with it.
My main issues are
fit - not as good as ARB but pretty acceptable
Hoops - they sit lower than ARB and the ARB looks much nicer as a result

I would have loved to buy the ARB but I just didnt have the $$. I bought a deluxe bullbar for $990. Colour coded it for $300. ARB was $1800 plus lights plus paint. Not much change, if any, from $2500.

I also had the Ironman 2" lift installed a few days ago and initial impressions are good. Handles better, ride is good. No complaints.

In regards to the snorkle. I bought and would only ever buy a Safari.
It costs an extra couple a hunge but what does it cost for a new guard and paint?
If im drilling holes in a perfectly good guard im doing that puppy ONCE.
We know the Safari's last long term and that is all I have to say on that!

Also have a colour coded Ironman Deluxe Bar... Only complaints are a few rust marks coming through on a couple of welds (Note: painting was not done by Ironman) and with the bar on, the same as the ARB ones, that I can't fit recovery points... Still haven't tried sizing up a pair of 150 series recovery points like I believe some have?
Slightly lighter than ARB etc as they use thinner metals but am happy with it.

Fitted an Ironman Snorkel a few weeks ago and happy with the quality and price. Doesn't matter if Ironman, Safari or El Cheapo I would always measure six times and drill once

Also have the Ironman Drawers fitted and very happy with them as well. Framework and drawers just as strong as others I looked at. Maybe the plywood top could do with being a bit thicker as per others but for the price and finish looks OK to me. (Also have Ironman fridge straps... Got them as a freebie LOL)

Not associated with Ironman... Just a happy customer so far!

Dagree, I've just fitted the Roadsafe recovery point for the 150 series to my ARB Deluxe winch bar. Picture below will give you an idea of fitment. Not sure if they are suitable for the Ironman bar. Sorry if not relevant but I struggled to find pictures/info when finding something suitable.

My comment on the snorkel was not regarding my inability to drill holes, more about the longevity of the snorkel. Safaris have some additive in the plastic which prevents it deteriorating in the UV light which Im pretty sure no other brand does. Have a look around on the net.

I'm working on a 150 at the moment(front end crash), and I can tell you a new fender for one will cost about $750! Plus paint.

Looks positive Jusso and thanks for the pic. Is the top bolt held on with a captive nut that fits inside the chassis or did you have to drill a hole on the inside section of the chassis.?

Here's a pic of the Ironman mount.... Looks so close to your ARB one so looks like something for me to definitely check out!

Mate I'm gonna have to pull you up on this! Our snorkels also contain additives that prevent deterioration from UV light. Our material composition meets the Australian Standards for the additives, which ensures that you'll have no issues with UV deterioration over the life of your snorkel.

We haven't officially released them yet, but the first batch is being produced as we speak. To give a preview of what they'll look like:



We've also released a snorkel for the face-lift 150 and are now working on feet to be able to mount our roof racks.

Your underbody protection plates are listed on the website as being made from either 2.5mm pressed or 3mm folded steel construction. Does that mean that there is different thickness of material in different parts of the plate? What is it for the 150 series? I already have the plates fitted but my front one is looking a bit mangled after our Vic High Country trip which were their first off-road excursion.

Hey Corine,

It depends on the vehicle and particular plate, on the 150 its a mix between plates. The engine plate is 2.5mm pressed steel, and the transmission plate is 3mm folded steel.
