Hi,

Just joined pradopoint, got my first prado 6 weeks ago.Very excited. Just wondering if anyone can let me know what the beach driving is like at Arrawarra. Havent done any sand driving for about 10 years and off to arrawarra next week for 10 days, hoping there is some easy beach driving to ease back into it. Any suggestions for places to see in the area would also be great. thx heaps Dale.

I haven't been up that way for quite a while so unsure on current beach condiitions, which along that stretch change all the time with big seas and rainfall, I'm from urunga just south of coffs. Won't be worse than down this way, usually pretty soft sand but nothing the Prado Nd correct tyre pressure can't handle I have tyre delfators and go straight down to 19-20 psi before hitting the beach. If your not comfortable with arrawarra coffs has some hard pack sand driving south of the fishermans club. I still drop my pressures though as things change easily.
Other 4wding if you want to challenge yourself there is the rover trail , more relaxed 4wding there is bindarri NP or down my way you have bellingen /gleniffer state forest trails, plenty to do around this area. Hope this helps , enjoy your holiday

Is driving on that beach still allowed?

Years ago I used to be a regular at the caravan park at Arrawarra (its crap now). I haven't been there for years.

I seem to recall someone telling me recently that its off limits now?

Thanks guys. I will try to find a friendly local and see how it is when we get there. I have done a few of the hinterland areas in the area, platypus flats and through to dorrigo, nice area. Keen to spend sometime on the beach so might try that area south of the fishermans club. Do either of you guys know the area around station creek and pebbly beach, is it worth checking out.

Arrawarra caravan park is over run with the mojo surf school and noisey back backer .the cabins there are also badly maintained . Nice spot if you have a van and dont mind some noise at night

Station creek is a nice drive just take extreme care if you decide to cross onto pebbly beach. It's a lot more dangerous than it looks. We went there a few months ago and you had to turn right and drive along the river then across and back down the other side. Wooli and minnie water are nice spots as well. We stay at the campground on Sandon beach when we go down and it's fantastic. Beach driving, fishing and yuraygir national park to explore. Hope some of this is helpful
