You need to do both. Have an isolation switch to be able to run high beam only or high beam and spot lights/lightbar. And the spotlights/lightbar must automatically switch off when you go from high to low beam. The 150 switches high beam with +12V so you can tap off this, go through the firewall to an isolation switch and then to terminal 85 on the relay. Terminal 86 goes to earth, terminal 30 direct to the battery through a fused wire and thermal 87 to the lights. I would use two relays, one for the spot lights and one for the lightbar. You could have two isolation switches in the cabin as well one for the spotlights and one for the lightbar. Switch slots for the 150 are smaller than the 120 so Carling switches are hard to fit neatly. ABR Sidewinder and NewPro Tech do switches that fit.
My build has a bit of info about how I did my lights if you are interested.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

A query for all the electrically minded out there;
After reading every thread on here and many other forums about installing my spotlights, I would like some help with determining if my 95 series prado RV is positively or negatively switched.
I tested in the 2 different ways i read about and tested with the one bulb unplugged and also both bulbs unplugged and got the following readings, hopefully some one can help before i go any further.
Thanks in advance.

From memory the 90 is +12 switched but it was over 12 years ago when I did mine. According to your drawing with the bulb installed you get +12 on the top terminal with high beam on and 0 on low beam and off which is the same as the 150. You should be able to take that +12V and use that to trigger a relay (through and isolation switch) as per the first reply above.My 150 build - http://www.pradopoint.com/showthread.php?27423-A-Random-approach-to-a-Bluestorm-150-GXL-D4D-automatic

I found an electrical diagram that I believe is the right one: https://docs.google.com/file/d/0BwDY...=1&pli=1&hl=nl
The link to this came from the Landcruiser forum (http://www.landcruiserclub.net/forum...nd-repairs-FAQ).
The document itself I believe is the official Toyota Service Manual. I would suggest that someone has posted the manual to Google Docs in breach of copyright. The original is most likely available LEGALLY from the Toyota Service website. You can subscribe to this by the hour (about $6) and in that hour, legally download a lot of information about your vehicle which will be incredibly helpful for both this job AND future work: http://www.toyota-tech.eu. Go to REPAIR, Electrical Diagrams and search for your model.
From the diagram in the Manual (Page 230 I think), looks like +ve switching to me.
For my recent driving light install (150 Series), I bought a Narva Driving Light harness. I didn't end up using it (the wires felt under-spec'd to me), but it did come with a clever headlight Y-Adapter which allowed me to connect to the highbeam without cutting any wires. I also used the relay and fuse. 150 Series is +ve switched.Prado_The_2nd now on my Third Prado (and 2 Landcruisers before that!)
