    Qld regos go electronic.

    Government presses go on electronic rego

    As of 1 October, Queenslanders will no longer have to display a registration sticker!


    So why did they just send us two new rego stickers that I just wasted my time putting on?

    They are getting very up to times. Queensland transport now have a rego check app, which allows me to put in a rego number and know when the rego expires, also shows me the VIN. Very handy for a mechanic or anyone else in similar trades.

      Understand the reasons Andy. We moved fron NSW last year when it was the case. I think we just got the last 2 stickers issued in Qld. Might be a collectors item.

        Could well be, lol. Im glad I don't have to keep sticking stickers to my windscreen, next full car clean I do the sticker will be coming off.

          Mine was off 10 sec after hearing the news. Normally they are on my rear left window to keep the front clear but since the car is new the dealer put it in the usual spot.

            When did you rego expire Jim? In Vic they haven't been required since 1st January, Queensland is just catching up.

              End of Sept. Been a couple of years for NSW but I believe WA and maybe SA were well before that.

                We have been at least 3 years in SA. And the police coffers went up by about 100000000% once the labels disappeared.

                      Yep we still get sent rego renewal bill in the mail and pay by due date came across this sight when googling when WA rego ceased

                      And we don't have to have annual vehicle checks like you guys in the east

                      (Don't see the point of a reminder sticker )

                          Personally I don't mind the label as I can glance at it and think shit Rego is due next month or what ever. Very easy to get the rego renewal papers and put aside at home then forget to pay it and bang mr police man has nabbed you for expired rego. I bet it's happened already... I had it tucked up on windscreen on passengers side behind sunvisor anyway. So couldn't really see it anyway.....cheers Steve
