Fuel price - fraser Island?

Heading over to fraser next week - just wondering if anyone has been recently and can advise on fuel price (we are on a real tight budget this trip).
Petrol and Diesel at Orchid Beach?

cheapest place is happy valley +50-60c (above mainland price)

next is orchid beach +55-65c

then kingfisher +60-75c

then eurong +65-75

then cathedrals +70c

that was for ULP.

Last september it was about 40 cents dearer than the mainland, we filled up at rainbow beach before we left last time spent from sunday to friday on the island, went to all the usual hot spots including one all day trip to the top end and back and still managed to get back to brisbane on the one tank and i drive the petrol. This aslo included quite a few recoveries of other vehilces.

I've never worried about pricing in the past, but this trip is coming down to dollars and cents (sign of the times i guess).

Happy Valley- the cheapest - wow. We normally do a lunch stop in the restuarant there on one of the days for a break and i am always amazed that they are usually up to 10c a litre more than Orchid.

Budgeted for $2.00 litre, so i think we'll survive this time, but if fuel keeps climbing our 30 year tradition is about to end.

Hutch, we normally do a fill from the G. Coast, then a top up at Rainbow, but i find I still need to do a main tank (at least) fill on the island - Usually stay up the top and do a couple of trips down south during a week period, but maybe a lot more r and r this time (and it'll be cooler this year - nice). Was wondering how your trip last Sept went.

I was at indian head this time last week and fuel at the tip was $1.95 for diesel.

Yea - can't wait. Fuel and grocery prices are making me unbearable this week. My wife rekons she can see me change back into my human form the moment I hit the sand. Something to do with salt water in my blood
We usually hit fraser late Jan, but that was a wash-out this time so i have had to climb the walls a bit longer till some decent school holiday time became available.

Good point. When listening to radio they talk about fuel watch and diesel has gone up 18 cents in a year......good stuff its not passing on at fraser
