installing a snorkel sealing and priming questions.

Hi I am about to install a safari snorkel on a 120.
I would like to know what people used to watertight seal the airbox and is it maf safe?
Also what did you use to prime bare metal as I will be doing beach work and don't want any pesky rust from poor prep work.
Any other advise would be muchly appreciated.

I painted around the hole-cut with black rust proof enamel (it will never been seen) and used my finger to wipe paint around the inside. I used MAF safe silicon to seal the tubes. Hasn't leaked or shown any problems in nearly 6 years.
