  • Another tool for the emergency kit

So usually I don't endorse or recommend products to people but here is a product that has saved my butt a few times. I'm sure many members on here already know it and I believe there are a few versions of it available.

The product is called RapidFix. Essentially its a super gluem but I call it the super glue from hell.

At 11pm last night, I overtorqued a mounting bolt on my radiator and cracked the top tank. I then used rapidfix to repair the crack. I have so far driven 150km without issue or loss of water while I wait for a new radiator.

The drivers interior door handle on my wife's Mercedes has been held in place with rapidfix for the last six months.

I've also used it for several other repairs such as repairing a boot seal rubber to help a car pass a roadworthy. Rebuilding broken dash clips.

All of our cars has a pack. Its not cheap at $30 for the set but worth its wait in gold. I've found it on the parts counter at my local parts shop (A.Barn)

Yep, got some Rapidfix along with another great product "Silver Seal" I also carry a couple of rolls of rescue tape. All handy to have (touch wood....)

Don't keep the 2 Rapd Fix bottles in the same compartment in your toolbox if it lives in the car!

yep top stuff, a mate had a hos clamp from his auto trans cooler hose rub through his radiator core and spring a leak out at Wolf Creek crater. we pulled the radiator out and repaired it with the rapid fix ( should try and keep the liquid bottle in the fridge). Got him through the rest of the trip and all the way back to Perth without a leak under full pressure. highly recomend it
