TXERR error on my GME TX 3340

Hi All,

Does anyone know why I would be receiving this TXERR error on my UHF? I could receive a couple of messages, then nothing or I could transmit once and then nothing but I would then see this error on the handset.

Each time I would turn the UHF off and back on, same thing would happen.

I have tried Google without any luck and the GME website is not exactly full of useful information.

Have you checked the aerial connection at the aerial and back of the unit?

All the cables look OK, at least as the ends I can easily access and are all securely connected. I have emailed GME and will see what they come back with as well.

It has worked faultlessly for over 2 years. Worst case I will pull the UHF and all the coax out next weekend to ensure everything from that side is OK.

Only other thing I can think of is a faulty crystal on the TX side. I had a handheld once that received fine but would not transmit and that was the cause of the issue.

I had the same issue on mine, contacted my local GME repair agent and they fixed it under warranty for me as it was a known issue. I believe Fido has it spot on, crystal issue on the TX side. If it is only 2 years old you should still have 1 year of your warranty left?

I had to remove it for them to repair it but worth it.

Fido and Rogerthat were correct, the crystal had to be replaced and was done under warranty.

After talking to GME, the UHF was posted to GME in Sydney, fixed and returned in 6 days, so only good feedback for GME from me. Now just to refit and test on the weekend.
