  • IPF - wiring loom

I have the IPF wiring loom in my car. I have also followed the wiring of my current spotlights. Doesn't look like there is a plug. The reason why I can't tell properly is because I have to remove my battery to get to the wires.

Anyone familiar with the IPF wiring looms? My question is, do they normally come with plugs on the end or are they normally joined to the wiring of the spot lights?

Just asking as some of you know I want to get some new spot lights and I am trying to work out whether I need a plug fitted on the end of the wiring of the spotlights or whether I just wire them up to the current IPF wiring loom I have which looks like there is not plug fitted.

The switch looks similar to this one:

A few of the standard looms come with that button switch. Usually mated to plugs but you should trace the wiring to be sure.

      probably depends on installer.

I reckon a lazy person would just wrap wires together and may/may not even drop a bit of solder on it and tape it up.

When i installed my lights all wiring was soldered and heat shrunk and wherever need a Deutsch Connector fitted.

I had a mate pay big dollars at a reputable stereo seller but NOT fitter however they do do fitting. His stereo randomly turned off and on after around 13 months (no warranty) and found all wiring just taped up no solder even used.

Will get around to it later.

          Hey,

My IPF wiring loom didn't come with any plugs, wiring from the relay went straight to the spotlights, no plugs or connectors. I recently upgraded my IPF's to HID, and I just cut the wiring and plumbed in connectors and ballast in the back of them.

You could wire any spotlight to the IPF loom, just check the current rating and use the appropriate fuse.
