Thinking of upgrading the stereo next year, are there any good spots on the prado to install a small high powered amp like the alpine ones? In a place where it is not in the way?
I have one under each front seat. Never catches on anything or gets in the way. There are already slots in the carpet to feed to power and RCA cable through too.
You can fifit a standard 4 channel under either front seat in any of the prado series. Also sometimes they fit inside the side panels at the rear of some cars.
Is this the amp your talking about. Runs my whole system fine. Like rorza, fits perfectly under the seat and the aircon vents under there on the gxl keep it nice and cool to, at least I think there air con vents. http://www.alpine.com.au/showItem.php?item_id=267
They say 300w rms for the mono and 75w on the other 4 channels but they put out a bit over 400w rms and over 100w rms a channel. Can't find the test card to give you the exact numbers but I think there a great little amp. Easy to hide away.

The road less travelled is definitely the best road to be on

Yes, one of these alpine ones! Had one in my old integra. Did an awesome job.
2008 GXL prado, they dont have tweeters do they? Do the alpine 1" go straight in?
There is no Prado where I live atm so I would appreciate it if someone could tell me if a sub box would fit behind the 3rd row of seats when they are in use.
The box is an Aerpro SB12100 sealed box.
The dimensions are 220mm at the top, 320mm at the bottom and it's 350mm high.
I cthink this link will get anyone willing to help to it.
