Just wondering if anyone has taken out Outback travel specific travel insurance

Going to the cape in July / August this year

Can find general domestic travel insurance, but nothing outback specific

Is it for yourself or for your car?

For your car ensure that your comprehensive car insurance covers you anywhere in Australia not just gazetted roads. Also worth checking that your policy provides cover for contaminated fuel.
Having both of these should give you a piece of mind.

Car is covered OK it's more to cover things that health cover and car insurance don't as we've paid thousands so far for accomodation and other costs organising the trip and if something happens and we can't go we may lose the lot.
