  • Anyone tried Night Prowler lights?

Looking at these since my bar won't accomodate for 9" lights.

Has anyone seen these in action?

Other option is the Lightforce LEd 180, but they are $1k for the pair

Why LED? We put some 75W 7" HIDs from Sunyee and they are really very good. $100 or so from memory. Poly body but easy to set up. Worth a look.

        Hey,

+1 on the 7" HID Sunyee lights.

I put a pair of these on the front of my wifes Mazda 3, as I was sick of not being able to see anything at night, they are awesome for the price!

Great whites have been ridiculously overpriced for a long time.

Much cheaper options out there if you want LED.

At half the price, I reckon these will prolly last just as long as the fancy pants overpriced lights...

I actually was talking to Sunyee about his lights. I just don't like the red, I will ask if he has them in black.

Going back to the Night prowler, yes they look like a copy of the Great whites, I like the design more too.

I want LED, because I feel everyone else has LED bars haha, don't want to be left out

I ran a pair of those cheap HIDs for a while. While the light output wasn't a problem, the mounting method and construction of the light was.

Constantly coming loose (over corrugations admittedly) they were spread configuration and the reflector would rotate within the housing giving me a vertical beam of light rather than horizontal. Tried double sided tape and eventually sikaflex to keep them bloody still but they kept jiggling around over time.

I'm also a bit OCD with having them aligned perfectly and even before they started moving around they were hard to get pinpoint accurate as their toothed mounts weren't fine enough so I had to use shims unders the front / back of the mount...

Lesson learnt here - buy good quality the first time.

So far, admittedly only 4 weeks, the HIDs haven't moved and the mounting arrangement is better than other poly lights I have used. Far superior to the Lightforce Genesis which moved with the moon. When we bought ours there were red and black rings available.

SO i ended up buying these, they are heaps better than my old ones. I took some pics with my phone but the LED light doesn't really appear. For $400 I didn't expect much so they do the job, but I wish I had something to compare it too. WOnder if the Lightforce LEd 180 would of been better!
