  • What's going on for the Easter Break?

Want to do a road trip for Easter break! I am based in Sydney, anyone know some good hidden gems to visit?

Just looking for day trips atm, but might consider camping where it isn't crowded!

we might be interested in a day / overnight trip if you are interested in trying Abercrombie NP
it's a bit of a drive for a day trip for you.

If you want a nice drive along dirt roads without any hard stuff just a cruise this is my fav, you can do in either direction.
1 Kurrajong Heights down thru Burralow rd NPWS campground [my backyard turf]
2 back out thru the Patterson Range trail ,
left up Bells line of rd to Bilpin,
3 right into Mt Lagoon rd continue on thru Wollemi NP
4 left at Comleroy rd , continue on to Upper Colo rd
then left over bridge which passes camp ground turn off on left, continue on Colo Hts rd thru to Upper Colo,
5 Turn right onto Putty Rd then left Wheelbarrow ridge rd follow this around until down until you see the confluence of Hawkesbury and Colo rivers
[Note you can turn off Wheelbarrow ridge rd onto Wheelbarrow ridge trail which loops around to Bicentennial Rd]
6 then follow river downstream along Greens Rd passing thru Souths Club resort ,climb up over hill onto Bicentennial rd which you can follow down to Webbs ck ferry rd
and either cross over to WiseMans ferry and have a beer at pub or your could turn and continue on up to St Albans pub and keep going on up into Wollembi.

pretty much all dirt bar the sections along main rds

as I mentioned you can do it in either direction and there a few spots to stop either for a cuppa or camp or you can do as day drive and leave the trip on any of the main rds that you cross over

hope that makes sense but pm if you want more detail

Hey mate, I have done this actually. I actually had a break down last time I did this near Wisemans Ferry. Somehow got a massive rock through my tyre. Great road trip though. I didn't make it to the Convict trail, so I need to go back!
