Has anyone purchased an Ironman fridge?
I've been looking at their 74L unit that has a Danfross compressor which has a 5 year warranty as well as a 3 year warranty on components. Not bad considering they are around $1000 with a free insulation bag.
The reviews I've read seem to be positive, I'd just like to get some real world feedback if possible.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've had one of the smaller units since they were very first released. Infact, we purchased ours at their launch and that was quite a few years ago. No problems what so ever. Highly recommended and the quality of construction is very good. Runs at -2degC in the back of MUMSRIG constantly.. Been across Aus a couple of times and over horrid corrugations on plenty of occassions.

There is a good comparison in one the last few issues of 4WD Action (issue 228). Whilst they weren't 74L unit, ( they were 50L), the Ironman unit scored well for value for money but was poor in build quality (compared to the others) and performed poorly when high ambient temps were simulated (it tripped out at the Cooling at 55'C test). Get the issue and have a read. In summary:

      Performance scores out of 140
      ARB 104.6
      Engel 99
      Ironman 107.3
      Primus 103.9
      Powertech 104
      Waeco 115.2

We've got the dual zone 65l and it's great. My only comment would be that it's a bit power hungry when using part of the fridge as a freezer.

Also I ran a bead of silicone around all the joins internally.

Another vote for Waeco although if the budget stretches, National Luna its bloody hard to beat.

We have a Ironman IceCube 65L chest has two separate bins which give you the option of running a dual fridge, dual freezer or split fridge & freezer.
It works really well and cool down quickly. I use it everyday for work. really great value for the price

Iron man fridge specs don't state the ambient temp their testing figures relate to. I was told that it is only 25 degC. So the current draw may be higher when the ambient starts to go high as in QLD.
