Hi Guys
I reckon now is a good time to dig up an old thread again from 2012!
.... And yes lower Tyre pressures help but no amount of lower Tyre press can compensate an obese/ over-loaded Prado!.... If its over weight then its over weight!

Yep - and most Wagins on here with full bar works and passengers are most likely overloaded. Upgraded suspension will make that less dangerous, but not less illegal. Hook up a heavy camper and your stuffed. but many wouldn't even know. it's amazing there aren't more accidents (or are there).Originally posted by SWR View PostHi Guys

Everything should have a "safe working load" sticker. Even me, mine would say: Acceptable word processing limit 750 words per day.Bitumen: A blatant waste of taxpayers money!

A lot of the modern utes have reduced the size of the chassis between the tub bad cab. This is for weight and cost reduction. So much that the tritons are cracking from the front mount on the tray and a particularly badly placed hole in the chassis rail. Just like the one pictured in a previous post.
I for one would not tow a 3500 kg caravan with any of these modern utes. Yes they are ADR approved and have the power to do the job. But still why do they all have drum brakes ( other than Patrol and Defender ) and leaf springs. Would rather buy a 10 year old 100 series and do it in comfort.
Rusty.08 VX D4D, Lift, Safari Snorkle, Trailblazer Fridge, Custom Storeage System, BFG, ARB Safari Bar, Wife, Kids, Codan NGT HF Radio, Debt.
06 100 Series Sahara, Bilteins, Kings, Beaudesert 3", Diff drop, Unichip Q4, Safari Intercooler, EGR delete, 20ft Bushtracker, Codan Envoy more coming.
Sometimes i wake up Grumpy, most times i leave her sleep.
