2016 model specs on japanese site, the gear ratios looks a lot better, the 2.7 is using 4.77 final gear, on first is a lot shorter than actual model (4.55 final gear), cannot wait to test one

If the new Hilux is going to be tuned at 130kw & 450nm - most likely the same for the Fortuner when it comes in early 2016 - hopefully the 2.8 in the Prado will be tuned for a few more kw & nm - other wise a lot of people may as well buy the Fortuner if needing a wagon - imagine still being less kw & nm to an older design Pajero....... c'mon Toyota give the people who keep you rich a decent kw & nm Prado to other brands please!

If you read the link to the most recent article re the new motor it has the same spec 130kw/450NM[auto] 420NM[manual].

I took the punt today and purchased one of the last 2015 1KD GX models and saved a fair bit of coin over the new model. I considered ordering a 1GD-FTV build but the dealer wouldn't move on the price.

New engine and new transmission.
Now they will come with the new 1GD Diesel engines with improved power, torque and lower consumption along with a new 6 Speed AT transmission.

I did read somewhere that it will also have a minot face lift. Time will tell!
