    Hi All
Just wondering if any one uses Armour All for their dash etc ? Ive heard that this product can be detrimental if used long term ?
Are there any other alternatives. Thanks.

I use it about once every 3-4 months. No noticeable damage over 2 years and it looks good.

Mate I have always used it and no issues. Otherwise you have the Meguirs or Mothers detailing bottles that carry UV protection. They are good too.

Good stuff on dash and plastics, don't use on leather, get proper leather cleaner for that, leather doesn't like amour all in the long run.

I have heard all sort of comments about Armourall accelerating the decay of the plastic but it is probably from snake oil salesmen. I use 303 Protectant and it is very similar if not the same.

          Hint:

Don't use it on the steering wheel.

          Another hint:

Or on the seat of a high powered motorcycle.

Is that the Aerospace Protectant that 303 make? We use it on surfboards sometimes and it seems to feel sticky on the hands afterwards? Are you wiping completely dry when applying it?

              cheers.

Used it. Also no issues to report...

Nah, always used it on my cars and cant report any dramas.

I would say its either opposition marketing fluff, or probably has happened with a cheap product & the truth has been blurred along the way.

Chalk it up as another urban myth

I used it in my previous cars, and its only just occurred to me that I've never used it in the Prado...
I never had any issues in my other vehicles.

I've had first hand experience with amourall on the steering wheel - looks great, makes steering interesting.

Just sold a 36 year old car that had always been treated with Armorall. Plastic trims were still fine, including the tops of the door trims which are prone to crack [but were fine on this car]

Personally, i hate the stuff. I cant stand a "shiny dash".

I just use a moist chamois to whip the dirt away.

I like autoglym, but wouldn't hesitate using armourall if that's what I had available.

Many companies do a "matte" or "low sheen" finish dash protectant, amourall included.

I personally use the meguairs version, has UV protectant and low sheen, wipe on with terry towel cloth scrap or applicator pad, wipe off with microfibre cloth
