Difference = 28mm = 3.6% - which is under the 7% legal maximum quoted above, and therefore OK in NSW.
i guess I missed the boat on that one. Awesome, 70 series it will be then.

That sounds like a 265 70 tyre is now legal in NSW?

          Make that 285/70R17.

When is this confirmed to be legal?

            Quote from the Minister

"I’m delighted to announce I’ve approved for gazettal two new light vehicle standards. The first is titled the Light Vehicle Modifications Manual – Suspension an...d Ride Height (also known as the ‘Suspension Manual’), while the second is called the Vehicle Standards Information 60: Carrying Motorised Mobility Devices and Motor Cycles on Vehicles.
These standards were developed by the NSW Vehicle Standards Working Group, a committee I established in 2012 to allow motor enthusiasts direct input in formulating vehicle-related policies and regulations in NSW."

I think that means as of Now.

In SA you can go 50mm larger with tyres. It's on the govt. website under "suspension Modifications" rather than the "wheels and tyres" heading where you'd assume it would be.

Finally found it. Couldn't find it when you notified me earlier. Thank you.
