Regarding No Claim Bonus, you may find that a lot of insurers out there have moved away from the No Claim Bonus (NCB) structure. There was a period there where it became too easy to get the full NCB rating so it really diminished the value of it.
We don't rate based on it, we take your driving and claims history and set the premium that way. You'll find that for those companies that still do use NCB it wont be difficult to get a maximum if you shop around - most will simply match it, not like the original idea where you get rewarded and build it up over years of safe driving. Furthermore, you may find that the premium you are paying now is not 60% lower than those insurers that don't operate on a NCB system - but I have been wrong before!
But I understand your point, so sorry we cant help you out.
Or is it really only likely to go up if I'm at fault in an accident?
I don't want my premium to increase for the smallest of claims.Spilsy

When you make a claim, whether it be a collision where you're at fault, or a single vehicle collision like old mate roo stepping out at the wrong time you will see your premium go up.
Your NCB wont protect that - your NCB (as I understand it, having been in the industry for way too long!) used to give you a discount - a protected NCB would allow you a claim or two before you lost the % you were on. Now this doesn't mean your premium doesn't go up - it simply meant your discount remains the same.
It pays to speak to your current insurer, read your PDS etc. to understand exactly what it all means though - don't take my word for it as each insurer has their own rules.
Was our premium very different to the policy you currently hold?

Thanks for clearing that up...Ill have to have a deeper read of RACV's PDS!
Your premium was a handfull of dollars a month cheaper, but covered more $ worth of car and accessories. Im currently insured for $53500. Through you, I would be insured for $51000 plus $10000 worth of accessories.Spilsy

I have done the online quote for both the Prado and the camper trailer and the cost is significantly more. I am presently with Youi in Qld.
In fairness the cover will be much better overall with the good/needed extra you provide.
I might need to chat to someone in person to confirm all.
Am also interested in the previous question re the lift and tires as I need new boots and am looking at 285/70/17

We have had customers call us where they're outside of those bounds, but have gone through the process of having the mods engineered. Where this is the case let us know, we'll ask for photos and a copy of the certificate to keep on file and you'll then be OK.
