    Gday Mozz,

This doesn't sound abnormal in our day to day at all. The vast proportion of customers will flow straight through with their nominated value for mods/accessories

Also I was charged the $30 policy fee when I was assured it was being waived as my quote was generated prior to the policy change. I only noticed it when going over my insurance certificate after it was emailed to me. Might not seem like a biggie $$ wise but it is a bit annoying.
        OK Fido,

Can you PM me your policy number and i'll take a look at the policy fee issue.

With reference to the gear worth over 1k - did you take out extra cover or just go with the standard included $2000 limit?. I have to apologise to you Fido, my wording above was a bit misleading. What i meant to say was that you are covered for items up to 1k per item - there is no option to insure anything more than that in that coverage at the moment. So for your tent, if it was worth $1500, we would pay you $1000 of the value towards it.

Please accept my apologies for that oversight it wasn't intentional - i often compare that policy benefit to a "personal values" policy you get on your home insurance - which in essence it is. It will cover your items (other than the exclusions) whether they're with the car or not, anywhere in Australia. With that sort of policy on your home and contents policy you have the option of paying to insure specific items for more than the $1000 amount at quite a hefty cost. In the process of replying to your question i obviously got that mixed up (thinking about home and contents as a future product for our brand!)

Sincerely apologise - if you want to talk about it more happy to give you a call.

              • Hey Club 4x4. I've seen one of your tow rigs and the camper trailer (Mission?) parked up in my suburb recently. Looks good even if its not a Prado

                  • Thanks Kalen for following up on my policy fee issue, it appears to be resolved now.

Is it possible to up the contents cover at any time other than renewal time?

Can't say the same for my experience. One quote went through from start to finish on the website and spat out various excess and monthly premiums, but I didn't pull the trigger at the time (few months ago). This time rather than give me options via the website it sent off an email to a Club 4x4 employee and after a few back and forth emails correcting information that I had already entered during the online quote I'm being told that the underwriters have reviewed my case and will only allow me to insure $20k of mods as opposed to the $27k I requested alongside an agreed value of $36k.

Is this a new company policy to limit the insurable amount for mods on a vehicle?

                          Hi Rorza,

There are a number of variables that go into the system deciding whether a quote will be displayed, or whether it will need to come to the underwriter for a more detailed evaluation.

In recent weeks we have actually adjusted these logic behind this so there may be a few more people who will require underwriter intervention. When did you do your last quote?

Do you have your old quote number?

                          Cheers

                          Kalen

OK - do you remember when your last and first quotes were done. Quotes are only valid for a defined period of time.

Did you buy the last quote?

Sorry about all the questions, but the answers will help me determine the next steps.

                              • Jan 12 2016 was 2728031 (might be a bit long in the tooth).

The latest one was last week (ongoing).

I haven't purchased a quote yet as I wasn't happy when I was told about the underwriter capping me at $20k for mods given I had no trouble earlier. Why would the amount be an issue now as opposed to earlier this year given my premiums will reflect this large amount to be insured?

                                Thanks for answering my questions.
