  • New Recovery product coming out - TRED Pro

I was on kickstarter.com before and noticed something familiar - TRED 4x4 is bringing out a new product they call TRED Pro. Australian made and they seem to have quite a few improvements on the current model.

If you're keen, they are offering a limited number for $179 (delivered in April 2016 with free shipping). I have no affiliation (and just bought a pair of Maxtrax) but it looks like a solid product. They also offer a versatile mounting kit.

Here is a link on their website quoting $329 RRP

Interesting design with the dual compound that's meant to protect the teeth from melting under wheel spin, I wonder how well it will perform in the field.

You're not supposed to do wheel spin on them. There is a fellow that does metal teeth replacement for Maxtrax....

Yes I know that but we all know what happens when you use your gear to rescue a stranger.

IMO they would be better if they were multi-directional. Small thing though.

I saw a little 2 minute video on the melting of these from wheel spin.
In the demo it seemed to work quite well but I'm not sure what the tyre looked like afterwards.

I would be interested in a group buy as well

Looks like they have done their homework. I would be interested in a group buy as well.

                  Cheers,

I dare say that if TRED pushed the envelope and made their product multi-directional, that would tip them over the edge in relation to copying MAXTRAX. IMO this product is just a closer version to MAXTRAX than the original TRED devices
Everyone complained about the price of MAXTRAX in relation to the cheaper TREDs. Now that they've got more of a foothold on the recovery device market, as set of TREDPro is gonna cost another $35 more than MAXTRAX...

                      Mmmm.

In regard to a group buy, how would you do shipping? If you pledge $179 to Tred you get a set of TRED pros with free shipping.
So because we have members all over Australia, who ever gets the pallet of 44 sets of TRED pros is going to have to then post them out for free, so we get them for $160 a set or for no more then $19, otherwise it is cheaper to pledge $179 to TRED.

Just putting it out there :-)

I pledged for a set, it seems like a no-brainer based on price alone and if you believe the claims that they perform as well as the competition.

Think you people are forgetting how generous MAXTRAX, That's MAXTRAX! have been in supporting the Pradopoint.com Get Togethers over many years that have taken place in most states of Australia.
Do what you will with your own money whether its attending a Pradopoint GTG or shopping for recovery equipment.
But for me supporting those companies that have supported the Forums events, by generously donating products, services and equipment....
