GDay all.
With the seemingly endless, confusing and frustrating(for me anyway) talk, threads and counter arguments of EGR`s, plates, blanking, rattle, injector values, throttle valves and diesel particulate filters and the like (I am getting to the point..lol), has anybody tried and tested Liqui-Moly Diesel Engine Intake Decarb or the like?
Got an email from Supercheap today of it on sale. I have never heard of the stuff and have no idea where to even stick the nozzle tube to apply this stuff!!!
Here is the sales pitch.(I hope this is allowed!!) No I dont work for them or Super cheap.
"The Liqui-Moly Diesel Engine Intake Decarb is a high-tech solvent and additive formulation for rapid removal of typical contamination and deposits which can be found in the diesel intake and throttle valve areas. The decarb is designed to dissolve and remove all deposits and contaminants including; oil, resin, adhesive residue, etc. It guarantees operability of all moving parts and helps to reduce fuel consumption. Liqui-Moly Diesel Intake Decarb increases the reliability of diesel-powered engines and is suitable for vehicles fitted with EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve and DPF (diesel particulate filter)."
Does it work?
Will it screw my engine by releasing garbage to travel into the motor that would normally hug components?( Don't filters, traps etc be designed to "trap" and "filter"?)
Where is it sprayed/ applied/ concentrated?
Are there cheaper treatments, alternative cleaning methods for the Joe Blow to do at home without having a brain the size of Tasmania or the focus of a ninja on Ritalin?
I have $18.95 to spend on loyalty my card. I think the product is $30 a can. So its either the can or a cheap buffing machine.
Happy new YEAR members. (Is it too late for that?)
Cheers
