Road Transport - Melbourne to Darwin

To enable a one way trip, does anyone recommend a trucking company/owner operator between Melbourne and Darwin?
The two issues with the big carriers seem to be:
1. Taking the Prado, PLUS camper trailer;
2. Allowing personal possessions in the car.
An outfit called NT Car Carrying appeared to offer the flexibility for travellers like us, but have disappeared.

Have you tried the train? Not sure about personnal stuff inside the car though.
