Gday all. Has anyone had experience changing the fuel pump situated between the 2 tanks on a diesal 150 Prado. Difficulty , cost and is it absolutely essential to do at 150 k.

I think you mean fuel filter? Fiddly but do-able, every 20K should be replaced.Dave

The fuel filter change between the tanks is either side of the 150k service I thought. The 150k service is the fuel transfer pump change.
And no it is not critical it appears as my local toyota tells me they don't change as it adds $1k to the 150k service cost. The over the shelf cost is $800 though can be had around $400 online. It involves dropping the tank too.
I'm doing my 150k service as we speak, including the timing belt, and I'm not changing the pump. I've spent the saved money of a new water pump and other bits and pieces for the new belt.
