i also have a dash mat, and the prado's dash pad is not the largest,
it does give off a fair amount of glare, and for this reason, and for future dash protection, i got a dashmat.
very happy now doing long trips in the vehicle, with little to no glare hitting the screen.
    worth the $20 i paid

Never thought of those benefits...where did you get yours? On the Coast?

It's funny, I always thought of a dash mat as one of those "grandma and grandpa" accessories that you didn't really need.

      I could be wrong, though!

The only one on eBay I could find has a funny looking flap for the airbag opening area, I presume.

Is this how all of them look?

...or there is this one, but it still has a flap of some kind...

this item doesn't look that great.
                  maybe better in real life.
mine doesn't have that flappy thing.
but would do the same thing.
another advantage is, without a dashmat, you get that dirty white film that starts on the base of the screen.
that you have to keep cleaning the screen every 3 months or so.
i've been told that this is the residue coming from the dashpad.
would have to agree in some way, as i haven't had this residue problem for some time.
maybe it takes alot longer for it to accumulate enough to see it and therefore clean it off.

...any chance of showing us a picture of yours? Do you remember what brand it is, or was it a generic one?

                    Cheers

generic brand. i thought poor quality when it arrived.
but after looking at those pics, i very happy with my dashmat.
will try and take a pic when the sun is up.
