Prado Kakadu dual or single spare wheel carriers.

Does anyone know if a spare wheel carrier is available for a Prado Kakadu (2016).

I know there are many advertised products for GXL's but I can't find one that will incorporate the Kakadu sensors and cameras.

Any advice would be appreciated.

I think you have the choice between custom made from a metal worker, kaymar, MCC & outback accessories. I don't think there's a difference between a kaka and a gxl for a rear bar (but I hope to be corrected if I'm wrong).

Arb use kaymar, opposite lock use outback accessories. MCC is done by many shops.

Kaymar is the only one in aware of that has provision for sensors.

MCC bars have holes for sensors but no wiring kit available for a camera

Kaymar do Kakadu specific wing mounting brackets where the air suspension related components go. I would assume with Kaymar's attention to detail every factory accessory would be incorporated.

The Kakadu has rear sensors and camera as well as a unique rear door handle so that makes it very different to the GXL. I have since discovered that for a bout $4,000 I can get a double carrier made to suit two spare wheels but no manufactured model will fit.

I would only be carrying this spare tyre on 4 wheel drive trips and I currently throw the second spare in the boot which is messy and space consuming!

I have found a few suppliers who will fit a "Strong Arm Wheel Carrier " including Ultimate 4 Wheel Drive in Bibra Lake (Perth).

They say this will include the rear sensors (4) and rear camera but another mob said the rear sensors would be interfered with by the rear mounted spares which they claim are in the way.

One quoted $3995 (Ultimate) and the other quoted $1890 (Sports 4x4 Wangara), 4x4 show special apparently.

Mind you the Kakadu already has one spare mounted on the rear door which caused no problems for the rear sensors!!!!

Can you increase the GVM or do you mean a suspension upgrade which I have already done.
