I have inherited a late 70s model Engel. Its never been touched, after being up North every year since late 70s, around Oz a few times, all over WA, Beer fridge every Xmas etc etc
The only problem has been the door seal went hard a few years back, and has been pretty inefficient for a while. Therefore it draws battery down pretty quick, as it runs quite long cycles
Time for a new seal
Looked at various places, and found an alternative that has worked a treat, for about $10
See pics below

Old seal removed by pulling out from under lid join

Bought some of this seal from Mitre 10. (Sorry about pic quality. Taken on 6120)

Seal is quite flexible, and sticks to the Engel body easily

Presto - Door seals nicely
The old Engel now thermostats perfectly, and sits alongside my newer model waiting patiently for its next trip North in 2 weeks.
The new seal may not do as many kms as old seal, but will probably do a few years
I have also been doing some tests with battery pack on each Engel, testing under different loads for the trip next month, which I will post later.
