Just took a quick look in the Tyre & Lift regulations by state thread.
"maximum tyre diameter increase 50mm"
fitted stock to the 120 are a 265x65R17 (30.6" or 77.724cm)
upgrading to 265x70R17 gives (31.6" or 80.264cm) 25.4cm oversize
fitting 285x70R17 yeilds (32.7" or 83.058cm) 53.34mm oversize.
This puts you outside the nominated 50mm increase but only by a small margin. has anyone gone and done a mod plate for this?
I'm just concerned about insurance. don't like the thought of running around in 40k worth of vehicle uninsured.
Yes at this stage I'm assuming that mod plates are covered by my insurer but that is something I will have to double check about.
