Next gen Prado

Hi,

Just thought I would find out when other people think the next Prado (180 series or whatever its called) will be released.

Well Wikipedia lists version dates as:

70 series: 1990-96 (6 years)
90 series: 1996-02 (6 years)
120 series: 2002-09 (7 years)
150 series: 2009-16+ (currently 7 years)

Going off those lifespans, I would assume a new model due next year, but I don't see it happen until perhaps the end of year at the earliest.

Given the emerging competitors such as Ford Everest and the arguable feature benefits in comparison to the Prado, I would expect Toyota to get motivated in pulling its finger out and releasing an updated model. With the new motor, it wouldn't require a great deal of further change, perhaps improved safety features standardised across all models and a bit of a refurbed interior.
