I would hazzard a guess that many of those "users" were bots ... trawling the net for whatever they do .... ad bots, search engine bots etc ...

They would all show up on our list as guests.

i say we claim it as the new record. and only count the members, not guests (given we've established we can't confirm if they are actually human)
