Just a quick q regarding the foxwing.

It seems to have fairly large gaps between the Awning and the roof of the car where as the drifta has fill-ins to compensate. Is this as bad as it seems? Obviously being able to use the car as a 'wall' is a big advantage.

    Any insight would be great!

    Cheers, Will.

Guess it depends on your use, just a sun shade its fine, but yes there is a gap its not big, i normally cover it with the rooftop bag after we have setup or a small tarp. Depends how you install it as well, over the roof or off the side of the car.

I've adjusted my Foxwing to cover the rear door more - as I have a table back there. I hate cooking in the rain!

Sides I haven't noticed as much, but I have window flares.

I have the Supawing.. very sturdy and better coverage than Foxwing.
Only downside I see is you have to carry the poles separately. For me it fits perfectly between the 2nd row seats and drawers.

You can setup on your own with bit of practice...

If you can get past the price of the Ostrich wing then grab one of those.
Very well made and the no need for poles or ropes is such a blessing. Most times the awnings only come out for a quick cuppa stop or lunch stop and its a pain putting out poles and ropes for quick stops.

Supapeg is the only option worth considering. Made in Australia, tough, durable and high quality. Almost everything else is made in China! Enough said.

However, the 270 degree Drifta Rapid Wing awning is also made from all Aussie materials. All poles are connected already and only have to be dropped down. They are also peggable, for a quickset up. Check it out here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XbyH-j4amrk

Yep agree. I have the Supapeg from RV Off road and this is an awesome quality product and the guys were fabulous to deal with.

I'm very happy with my ostrich wing but you cant get them in Aus any more. the 30 second awning looks to be the same design but no idea on the quality. Basically, for me it was worth the extra to not have to worry about poles. If you're going to be doing a lot of touring, pay the extra and you'll be glad you did. If you're just going to use it occasionally on a weekend, stick with the foxwing or the drifta. It's far cheaper and the extra 5 mins of set up isn't a huge deal if you're not doing it twice a day for a few weeks.

I bought a supapeg/supawing for my trailer. Excellent quality and service as they made it to suit. They also make the awnings for Drifta and Patriot campers.
