DP Chip 3 days in and computer trips out is this a common event ? thought issues were fixed 2012

Anyone had Issues with the latest DP Chip Have the new variety and everything was running sweet until 3rd day car went into limp mode at start up..
Unplugged - restarted replugged issue seems to be resolved but would you recommend sending back asap or a possible/ common glitch ?
From any info i could find all of these issues were refined back in 2012..
