Being an ex pre delivery manager I would check everything. Oil, coolant, ask to park it under fluro lights shows up every little mark. Make sure they dont say, "OOPS sorry we pin striped the wrong car we wont charge you but if you dont like it we can take it off" most customers say na dont mind it actually but infact its hiding the big gouge out of the paint work. Make sure they havnt plastered the interior with armour al including steering wheel if leather. Check in around the door near the striker latch to make sure seat belts havnt got cought in the door and gouged the paint. Check all the extras are bolted down tight, check along the tops of guards edges to make sure no scratches from mechanics or the after market people from putting in the duel batts, bullbar etc. Steve

Pain in the ar@e
I was the biggest pain in the rear when I bought a few of my new cars. I didnt even buy myn from the dealership I worked at. When I ordered my'n I asked them to not register it till I come and checked it first. They had one on the show room floor I said no want a new one not one everyone had sat in and test driven and played with every control. I asked as soon as it come into stock to ring me dont wash it till Ive seen it, Why you ask ?? well I also organized transit damage, yes your new car may be damaged and repaired before you even get it. I went and checked it still covered in dirt, because if it had transit damage say on a door (dent) the repairer will only wash that one panel repair it then send it back to dealership, why would it have one clean door??? in the mean time the dealership is telling you sorry mate still hasnt come in, in the mean time its been in, damaged, repaired and back to the dealer ship then they ring you the excited customer MR who ever, your car has come into stock. We had two cars stolen from the pre delivery shed one white one black car, had the absolute guts flogged out of them, the alloy rims were that black from brake dust, rubber spat up under the guards from doing burn outs, every panel on the white one was kicked in, Found them in Forster, got them back repaired them and sold as ex demo's. lovely eh. Hopefully the dealers have cleaned up there act. Just check everything. My theory is, if I wanted some thing with a dent in it or has been repaired then I would buy second hand. If I buy new then I want new, no dents, no scratches, blemishes etc. CHECK the oil cap is on and tight, radiator cap, no scratches on the speedo covering, the dash panels are lighned up where they have had it apart fitting the aircon up. Check all the controls on the dash work, lights incase they forgot to plug the switch back in halfway home and it gets dark oops no headlights, its happened. Check check check and check again. Make sure all the windows go up and down if your had them tinted and they have had to remove door trims, check the little plastic covers that are in the door trims that they havnt gouged them trying to get them out.
