120 prado knocking noise on cold start up.

Hi all, I have a 2003 120 series Toyota Prado.
I have noticed all of a sudden on cold start up a metal knocking noise.
It seems to be coming from the front lower part of the engine.
It will be fine for a week or two then all of a sudden it comes back.
I have read on older threads this seems to be a common problem. While a lot of people offer advice there has been no actual solution.
If anyone's got any knowledge of the fault it would be greatly appreciated to hear from you.

If you want an 'actual solution' then suggest you get the issue diagnosed by a mechanic.

If you want 'advice' about what the fault 'may' be, then I'm sure you will receive advice here.

Petrol / Diesel? Suggestion instantly would be lower sump off and cleaning the oil pickup as a start then diagnose further.
