2012 Prado serging

Hey Guys
Just bought a 2012 diesel Prado 150

At low revs as it goes to change gear it seems to occasionally feel like its staving of fuel or thinking twice about changing gear..

As its my wife's car I have only felt it a few times though my wife says its happening each day

Any thoughts would be appreciated!

I wonder if this is the kick down delay issue for the transmission? I had this issue and Toyota has a fix - ECU update. My issue was basically when coasting through a set of lights at around 40-50kph, and then I put my my foot down (slight to moderate) to accelerate away, the engine would cut power for a second or two before kicking down the transmission. The ECU update fixed my issue straight up.

Is this similar to your issue?
