Dash light for battery or alternator

Hi
Had a flat battery last night for no apparent reason and now have a whining noise from engine.
Turned the ignition on and cannot see a battery or alternator light.
If they have one can someone tell me where it is.
The car is a 05 petrol Prado

Thanks for the reply but that looks different to my dashboard.
I guess what I m doing does the petrol 120 series dashboard have a battery / alternator light

My light does not light up when ignition turned on and when engine is running ithe battery voltage is the same as when engine is off so I think I have a faulty alternator. Coincidentally my battery light seems to have blown. If that was working I am guessing it would be on.

Quite unusual to have the bulbs in the instrument cluster blown. But yes, from your testing the alternator is kaput. Time to take it apart and have a look inside. Have you gone through mud recently?

No the car had never been offload until I bought it and I have taken it on the beach twice, never through water.
Only has 130000km so not a lot but I guess it is 11 years old.
Yes I have never seen a dash light go either.
Are these fixable?
I was just going to buy a new one.
