James Baroud roof top tents

They seem to be well designed. Easy to set up - pretty much clip-unclip - good aerodynamic profile, reasonable space inside. The price is a little steep though. Anybody used them? Couple of pictures below.

I think they are regarded as one of the best that you can buy. Ive been researching for a while and thats what i will be buying.

A mate of mine took one across the Simpson with us. We were hit with e 110km/hr sand storm. It had no effect on it. Others in our group with dome tents broke their poles and were left camping under a flat tent.

I think they work.

I reckon hardtops are buy far the most convenient and efficient tents to have. Least wind resistance and the simplest to pack up and set up.

I however bought the RTT because i thought they looked so much better (looks like a tent still) and they have a bit better air flow if you end up camping in the summer.

I have been looking at these too, will eventually buy one, not sure when due to the elevated price. The only negative I find is that it takes all of your roof space. But you can still fit a spare on it if need to be. I was thinking if you push it all the way forward, with bit of overhang above the front windscreen, you might still fit a storage box at the back (obviously blocking your rear exit).
