Enabling DAB on a 2016 GXL Prado

Does anyone know how to enable the DAB for the GXL?

The VX has this feature, but I imagine it's a software upgrade for the GXL.

I know it's another reason for Toyota to make people want to upgrade, but there is already a digital radio in the basic system, which I thought was the backbone for DAB.

Happy to be told this cannot happen as well.

135 views but no replies, that is a shame as I am keen to know the answer as well even if as I suspect it is no.
I can hardly believe that a motor manufacturer would install a digital tuner in a head unit then not activate it. Having said that my wife's Audi A3 in the UK came with all GPS components installed but not activated, the dealer wanted almost £800 to get it going. Luckily we were able to negotiate a better deal or not buy the car. Unfortunately accountants seem to make the decisions in car companies now.

as long as consumers try to screw car dealers on the price of a car they will play the game and find ways of trying to screw customers with "extras"

It maybe possible that the GXL doesn't have the DAB antenna. That is in the VX and Kakadu models. So even if it was possible it may not function. DAB has a different antenna compared to your AM/FM.

Another question. Does your unit have JBL written on it? If not then its a slightly different unit.
