Waco CF18 problem.

Hi the father inlaw has given me this cf18 as it wasn't working properly. I have set it up with a digital thermometer and after cutting the cigarette lighter plug off and fitting a 50 amp Anderson plug and running direct off a good battery with a charger connected.
I have good voltage to the fridge now.
The fridge has a dial to control temp and I have it turned to full cold. It has been on for 48 hours now and seems to be running constantly and is only down to 0 degrees Celsius. I believe it should get well into the minus like negative 18 degrees Celsius.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it needs a regas. Is the compressor running constantly? Have you confirmed that its actually 0 degs? Could be a faulty temp sensor?

Yes it runs constantly.
Yes I have a stand alone thermometer in to confirm temp.
With my knowledge of automotive air con I would have said it's low on gas. Any idea how much to read if this is the case.
