Downside is the DPF, but so far it has done one DPF burn whilst travelling through stop start city traffic - without having a Scangauge you would not notice apart from a slightly odd smell.
There was an article in our local paper about an Outlander having the AEB brake suddenly when there was no object in it's path. Got me thinking about the PCS in the Prado what would happen with 2.5T caravan on the back - so reading the handbook, PCS MUST be turned off while towing. Just have to remember to do that each time we tow.

I have recently had this ECU reprogram and according to the service manager it "changes the way the burn happens when driving at high speed" I have been monitoring with torque pro to see if I can detect any difference but haven't noticed anything in the two burns since. Apart from the long term fuel use has risen from 8.5 to 8.6 L/100Km which may be coincidence?

This is the first time I am owning something other than a sedan. After 2 weeks and 2,000km, I am feeling very happy about my decision to buy a Prado. I drive to relax and de-stress and the Prado fits the bill perfectly. I feel safe and empowered in the vehicle. I enjoy the view more from a high driving position. I also drive more responsibly now, knowing impact of a large vehicle on others can be colossal. Its a good feeling knowing that the vehicle can take me almost anywhere without breaking down or running out of fuel. I love the fact that I am not burning too much fuel either. The tech in the car makes it interesting.... options to play with. I take comfort in the fact that, if push came to shove, I could sell the vehicle without loosing too much money. I absolutely love the look of it too, especially those curves on the sides above the back wheels. What else? I could carry 7 people if I wanted to.... tow something if I wanted to.... put something on the roof if I wanted to.... lots of possibilities. Most importantly, each time I jump off the vehicle, I feel like going back and driving a bit more.

@Sydney_Sider - wait until its done a faultless 100K, got you to so many places and back that you never thought possible, created so many memories and it will start to feel like a member of the family. My 120 was hard to let go of, but Toyota hasn't broken the Prado formula yet.2016 Crystal Pearl Auto VX 2.8, TJM Bar, Safari Snorkel, Cooper AT/3, OME 50mm lift, Dual batts

Hi Guys, I have something interesting here. I went to a dealership in inner east of melbourne, which has some hail damaged VX on sale. I've got an offer of $67000, including floor matts and full tank fuel ($200 worth, I guess). As I don't have any experience on buying a car with pre-existing damages, there is also a GXL offer of $58500, a GXL with leather option, offer of $62500. I was so close to put a deposit on that VX, because I wasn't too sure on the repair cost of those dents. The sales guy said all dents would be fixed within $1000 bucks, which I don't believe at all. And he won't give up any further on that price and he was confident that VX would go shortly. I would be very appreciated if I could get some advises here. I may go back tomorrow for that VX if I can make a decision tonight. Cheers!

Going by the reported prices for VX on this thread, you should be able get a fresh one (without any damage) for $71,000 with floor mats and full tank fuel. Your hail damage vehicle offer saves you around $3,000 after repairs worth 1,000. From the repair estimate, it doesn't seem the hail damages are extensive. If this is the case, its worth saving $3,000. However, if the damages are ugly, you are better of paying a bit more for a fresh vehicle. Personally, if I am paying that kind of money, I would want my vehicle to be totally impeccable.

I don't buy what the dealer said $1000 bucks job, and I believe the repair would go into $3000-$4000 range. I will keep haggling for $71000, however, the best offer I've got over a few dealers inner east is $73000. So if anyone could get anything under it, it would be a good offer at the moment in melbourne.
