if the long range tank has to go in favour of the 3000kg tow limit, that will be a deal breaker for me.
Believe it or not, im actually now looking at the Jeep Grand Cherokee trail hawk as an option. I just have to convince myself that they have fixed the reliability issues.

Yeah i thought it sounded like it will be a bit like the pajero.
3 tonne towing only if the ball weight is 150kg or less
But if its over then tow limit reduces to 2.5t.
It sounded like its going to be a bit of a con....
Or a big sales pitch but with alot of fine print.
Just wait and see now if he was telling the truth
And if he really was as informed as he was making out he was or jist assuming.

The current model 150 has a 25kg penalty on the GCM already if you're towing to the maximum rating, not like the 120's had...
EDIT: TMC website confirms my GXL TD Auto has a 120kg penalty :<
It would be a real shame if the Prado went further down the dual cab path with high towing limits and a GCM that makes the tow limit almost impossible to achieve.
It's all well and good you can legally tow 3T but when you can only do it with a few vehicle mods, 2 people on board and little to no load in the vehicle then what is the point?Cheers

they dont look too bad
Still not sure if this updated Prado is going to be enough to sway me from a Grand Jeep Cherokee Trail hawk. I'm sort of convinced they overcome the reliability and warranty issues now and you get so much bang for your buck. Nice accessories from Uneek as well.Last edited by hoppy; 12-09-2017, 01:52 PM.

If you're buying it for urban work with occasional off-road and remote work then there are a lot of options. The Prado is not very polished, but for serious off-road and remote work the Prado does pretty well.Steve

I agree Krypto - if you need an allrounder its very hard to go past the Prado.
Yes it doesnt have the highest tow capacity or the most gear ratios or the most power but geez, as an allrounder or tourer there ain't much better...Cheers
