is the nudge bar very solid??

Yes, very solid......in the past the Toyota Nudge bars have been alloy and mounted at one point on each side......these new ones have 2 mounting points each side using good sized steel brackets and large diameter Stainless Steel tube. As i've mentioned before, the only thing i'm disappointed with is the way the parking sensors are installed and lack of some sort of cover over the original number plate position on the bumper.....both these problems i've already worked out how i'm going to fix.

Surely with stone chips you'd be hitting the primer and revealing a dark patch on a white car? Either way we live in the big bad city so hopefully not an issue.... for now.

never an issue, fine brush and touch up paint, cannot even notice, when i had the dark car i lived in hell.... lol

You mean LED highbeam is worse than the previous helogen? I saw some lc200 bi-led headlamp, that's very close to an aftermarket spotlight.

Are you sure its a weak high beam - or is the low beam so bright that the high beam has little extra to offer? I fitted LED to my 120 and that seems to be the case with it.

No......but they now give you a colourful laminated card with the Owners Manual on what to do if the warning light comes on (drive at least 60kms/h for 30mins). If this doesn't work go to a dealer. The wife's Hilux is now 10months old with 15,000kms on the clock and we've had no issues, probably because it gets a good run a few times a week.....i've heard many times that a blocked DPF is a symptom, not the problem! I suppose what i'm getting at is: what's the difference? I can just as easily touch up dark paint as light paint. Any more light you can shed on this will be useful to me, cheers

You're right, part of the problem is the LED low beams(the inner round balls in the headlight clusters) are excellent, white and bright. When you hit the LED high beams(the outer reflectors in the headlight clusters) you get a narrow strip of light above the low beam light line......but it's significantly dimmer than the low beam and doesn't penetrate very far like the old halogens did.

Haha....i always find his videos amusing with some good information, but yes sometimes he is cringe worthy.....but i'd rather watch him than some tech head trying to baffle me with bullshit.......and on another note, i tried his Auto Expert brokering service that he flogs in his videos for my new Prado, they couldn't get close to the price i got from a local dealer, $6,000 off the money!!

Screw it all to Hades, I'm going to see if i can change from the VX to the Kakadu with the dealer. Will have to beg borrow and steal for it but I can guarantee i'll not be happy unless I have the best I can get, and that means the Kakadu. Damn you bigowenb!

Had a quick look at a VX today. Very nice looking.

I read the comment about increased trans cooling to cope with the additional 500kg tow capacity but darned if I could see a trans cooler anywhere.
wonder what actually was changed, it looked identical to mine...

I'll be interested to hear what you think about the VX and how it handles now that they don't have KDSS
