  • Does anyone know stevesonly? I'm stuck on the Mitchell Falls Rd, Kimberley, with a problem he had

    Hi

    Subject says it all really...

I'm stuck on the side of the Port Warrendra Rd/Mitchell Falls Rd in the Kimberley with symptoms that match almost perfectly his experience a little south of here at Drysdale Station - see thread
    http://www.pradopoint.com.au/showthr...Pickup-Problem

Update - I found his email address and he gave me a call. I'm still not going but have more ideas to try!

(yes, I really am stuck on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere - I've got an ANT portable satellite internet system to keep up with work problems that I've set up).

All good - just got back home to Sydney today. I updated some other threads.

As ############# said, make sure you have spares of both fuel filters! If the back one blocks you will stop by the side of the road with no warning lights and the fuel gauge way above empty. At least the front one has a warning light - the back has nothing!

Would be interested to know where you got your last fuel from. Exactly the same happened to my nephew in his Pajero, similar area.
PM me if you prefer, I'm heading that way in a month.

Last fuel from Drysdale BUT I don't think it is their fuel that was a problem. We filled up there on the way back (no real option - we didn't have enough to go further) and so far the car is running fine.

The main fuel filter blocked (warning light on) when I was between Kalbari & Steep Point (mid west coast of WA) about 7 weeks before we died on the Mitchell Falls Rd. No idea where that fuel came from. In hindsight perhaps I should have changed both filters when the light came on instead of only just the front one...
