My wife did a 3WD training course with her work a few years back and when we headed across the Simpson I had her do some driving, but only a bit. I feel reasonably safe with her driving although she needs more experience in our vehicle, especially as it is an automatic and she learnt in manual.

I found it quite interesting also that after the lift Gen was more keen to drive the tracks as she says it doesnt bump and scrape as much anymore. Proven when she did all the low range stuff at Ruby Gap on the GTG its all goodas i was allowed a beer or 2

The Bruisers (my off-road club) has an off-road event dedicated to this. We meet for a day at the state forest and let them drive. We explain how they are the 'pinch Hitters' (an American baseball term) and have to drive us out if needed.

It also gets them to pay attention to all the little toys we want for er, safety resions.

All part of the grand plan.... The handbrake enjoys 4wd as much as me. Very easy to convince her that we need the double chrome plated dip stick for the prado when she can see the benifit of having it as well.
Do draw the line when it comes to insisting it comes in pink, but agreed not to paint the whole car in safari zebra pattern.

I know it may seem a little wrong, but its so good that she thinks it was her idea to upgrade to a 150.. :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
