Re: waeco cf 60 on the blink
I had the same troubles with my 80ltr and 50ltr. They ran fine for a couple of hours then just cut out but ran fine on 240, luckily everything was still cold when I found out it had stopped. The problem was the battery didn't have enough juice in it to run both of our fridges so I chucked it on charge over night and all was good never had a problem since. So now before I travel with both fridges I make sure I charge the battery the night before.

Re: waeco cf 60 on the blink
I had this same problem out the back of Oodnadatta with 3 weeks worth of food in it  Could not get it to clear the error light no matter what I tried. In the end I turned it off, plugged it into 12v, started the Prado, then turned the fridge on. Like magic the error light went away. That's the only time I have ever had it happen. Cue Twilight Zone music :lol:My Prado

Re: waeco cf 60 on the blink
I just had a different problem with my CF40. It is 18 months old. Read the warranty - 3 years. Procedure is to phone 07 5507 6040. They will tell you where to take it nearby. All you need is proof of date of purchase. Mine was fixed no problem.

Re: waeco cf 60 on the blink
My CF50 did the same thing - the day we were to leave on a 3 month trip.
Went for a few seconds and then nothing.
Switched over the emergency over ride switch thing and it worked ok (freeze only)
Switched back, nothing - just error light.
Raced off to Waeco agent, and the fridge performed perfectly on his bench!!??
Put it back in the Prado and hasnt missed a beat since.
And nothing amiss with the second battery in the Prado.

Re: waeco cf 60 on the blink
How do you measure the 12.5 at the fridge plug - with it disconnected, or with the fridge connected and compressor running ?
If there is a high resistance somewhere in your supply from battery to plug ( dodgy crimp, corroded terminals, rusty earth etc ) it may appear Ok at no load, but will drop the voltage considerably when under load. Visual inspection can sometimes miss these things.
I have a Waeco and can say from experience that they need a good solid low resistance feed from the battery to run properly - at least 6mm twin red black wire ( no body earths ). I've even done away with the cig lighter/hella socket and hard soldered the Waeco fridge lead to the battery lead.Cheers, Wayne

Re: waeco cf 60 on the blink
Well I'm not sure how relevant this is but I was recently in a camping store just looking over the Waeco fridges to pass time. The salesman came up to me and warned me away from them as he said Waeco had been having issues with the compressor mountings coming loose causing weird operation issues. He didn't say exactly what "weird" meant but mentioned they'd had a few come back under warranty with the issue. Now, the guy might just have been trying to sell me an Engel because that's where he pointed me until I bought out the "just looking" line. I have to say though I've never heard of this issue before or since. Re: waeco cf 60 on the blink
Dont know what your method is Samo but i find my CF80 craps itself if i turn it from 12 to 240 volts without turning it off first.
I use the computer method if it does not work turn it off unplug it full as there is still power going to the little light inside even when turned off
Plug it back in and then turn it on seems to fix all issuesDont list all ya mods, you will only be more upset when i get further

Re: waeco cf 60 on the blink
i had tried everyway possible to turn it on and turn it off, as i said b4 its fine on 240 volt, goes like a champion, but on 12v it will run for 10 sec and the compressor will cut out and error light will flash, it will cut in again a few min later and the same thing will happen, i even plugged it into the ctek on supply function and it does the same thing, so its not a power supply problem in the prado or with the ctek its a fridge thing. cheers samohad an 03 gx 120 with some gear now got a 2013 bt 50 GT auto some ARB gear.
