    Re: Change of the guard..

Matt, Thanks for all the effort, it takes a special sort of fella to run an outfit like this without having to resort to running roughshod over everyone, you managed that very well. Hope all works out for you.

      Re: Change of the guard..

I agree with OGG: it takes a special kind of person to administer a forum. With some insight of this from other forums I've been involved in, you often feel like you're on a hiding to nothing.

Matt: I reckon you've always managed to get the balance right, as evidenced by what a fantastic forum PRADOPoint remains. You will be missed in the admin role but your "real" life has to come first. As others have said the forum will clearly still be in great hands with Mav & others. Hope things are sorted quickly for you & we continue to see your informative & down to earth posts here!

      Cheers,

            Good job, Matt.

I'm sure you'll be back - the countless hours of dedication you have shown to the place do not go unnoticed. The forum is all the better for it.

I think of you everytime I activate the Hilux washers on my rig

Well done also to Mav - fine job there, son!

                Re: Change of the guard..

Well I am a bit gobsmacked by all this but will give it my best. Firstly, Matt you have run this forum with great aplomb. I am sure that you will return in due course to take your rightful place again, I will run it in caretaker mode for you in the meantime.

I have just returned from Jervis Bay today, in fact I have only just arrived home at 16:10 this afternoon after being on the road for 2 days with my family. So my appologies to those new members who were waiting to be activated, I have now cleared the backlog for today.

I trust you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year, I know we did and we are now looking longingly at where we may end up in a few years time. Jervis Bay is a top spot in our books.

I will work on the 2010 GTG website over the next few weeks to get it up and running, I will be reusing the 2009 website so you will not have to change the URL to find the info. There is a lot for me to do to come up to speed on the great work that Matt has done on the organising of this years event so bare with me whilst I get things like sponsors sorted out.

Thanks too for the kind words that everyone has expressed, the Mod team do a wonderful job in keeping the forum ticking along and I am sure they will all continue to do so.

                Cheers

                Mav

                      I know Im a bit late as Ive only just come back online from early December;
I'm shocked and saddend by this news, Matt has been a great support and Mod (and mate)
on this forum in my short months on here, and i hope that once all is sorted out he can return
to his former role (thanks to Aaron as well for this). Cheers to Matt for his great efforts on the site, and if ya need a hand with anything let us know, only just up the road mate.

And Cheers to Mav as well for the efforts he has put in for the GTG, I know he will do the same for Pradopoint as a Moderator, thank you for taking up the mantle, to keep this site as smooth running as it is .

Really hope everything sorts itself out for you Matt.

Your no BS leadership style has helped to keep PP as one of the few forums worth visiting -- the rest all seem to be inundated by self inflated pontificators

                            Re: Change of the guard..

                            :!: Just a heads up and welcome to 2 new Sub-Admins. :!:

Wengnuts & Mav have been rasied to the level of Sub-Admins, this allows them the abiity to approve new users, and delete/ban bogus ones & spammers.
They can also handle minor admin stuff like chnaging usernames or deletion of posts/ moderation.

It is time for a couple extra Admins to help out with the new users as they are getting rather rampant nowadays and too much to handle with current staffing.

                            Welcome!!

                                Hey Matt,

Guys like You (and Piggy and Chippy and Mav etc) make it possible for "regular" members such as myself to enjoy all the benefits of PP. On a personal level, I've been encouraged by your thoughtful comments on a number of occasions. Thank you :!: I can think of no more noble decision than for a man to sacrifice a pleasure in order to love his family. Wish you and your wife well ... and wisdom from God
