Just Did the prado last weekend also.

Used meguiars cleaner wax followed by the canubra wax.

have been using this combo or occasionally the wet look then canubra wax on previous commodore. Have always been happy with the Meguiars stuff and so has the next door neighbour who up until 4 years ago was using these on his original 1977 french blue alfetta sedan.

All comes down to a few details:

        1. how much you are willing to spend
        2. how much time you are willing to put in now
        3. how often you expect/willing to redo the application

There is no right product for everyone but with the above questions, it can usually narrow down the choice (and believe me there is plenty of choice out there).

PS. looks like you have a Black car so there are some other considerations you would need to consider like correct washing products and technique which will reduce the "swirls" that appear on your car and extend the time inbetween applications of the polish/wax.

          1. The 'boss / minister of finance' chooses that, I would say under $100, I might just get that through
          2. Time is not really that much of an issue, definitely would want to spend less time the 2nd time round though
          3. Would think I would get quick sick of it if it is a regular occurence so the furthes between applications would be better.

I know I am asking for the best of both worlds and probably only comes with the more expensice products.
Yes I have a black VX and am willing to take on any advice you can give as its my first dark coloured car

I don't know too much about all of the fancy new products on the market these days, but I have always used good old turtle wax, and can't really fault it. I wax once a year if that. (car I mean). My wife likes to wax my back once a month.

So I finally managed to get to get to the shop and get some meguiars product.
I must say it is easy to use and the Prado came up a treat.

                        Hi 4X4BEGINNER
Some time ago I had an extra tab put on the right hand top hoop of the sovereign bullbar.
The reason for this was to enable me to mount my dune flag to the bullbar,. The tab was made to mirror the original left hand aerial tab.
The guy that done the job, a marine alloy and stainless workshop in Adelaide polished the hoops and uprights to a high shine.
Before i refitted the hoops I used, on his recommendation, -3M Marine Aluminium Restorer & polish. This stuff took all the tarnish and water spots off. It was purchased from Whitworths marine.
                        Cheers Troy

I have used the Autosol for years on the polished Bull bar on my previous 90 Prado. I buy it locally from Supercheap. They sell it in tubes. Goes on easy with a wet cloth and buffs up to an excellent shine.
                              Good luck

                                Re: Best polish to use

On a badly tarnished bullbar i don't think autosol will be enough to shine it up?? i haver tried it didn't do much for mine, the only successful polish i have seen is the stuff my car cleaner uses but he buys it from Germany??? maybe i would suggest try the marine stuff. Just my 2 cents but if it is bad i think you will be disappointed with autosol as i was.
The loops and uprights are chrome so they polish up better the base is polished alloy that is why it goes off shine quicker.
