Hi first input into this site ,has anyone upgraded there sat nav on there prado i looked into it 1 year ago and Toyota wanted $250 for the sd card that cannot be upgraded on a computer.

I think it is nearer $500 now for a "new" Toyota map which will be 12-18 months out of date when sold, if anyone is daft enough to buy one. A search of the forum will reveal many threads from me moaning about the issue and ways to overcome it. -

I just use Google maps. Always up to date, including traffic data, but requires mobile data.Comment

i was about to update. the only reason is for speed alerts and map upgrades. the probem is that toyota cannot confirm the maps have the speed feature. and cannot confirm what updates are on the DVD. For $ 275 thats a risk not worth taking,.

there is a way to use off line if you dont want to use data, you can go into settings and download sections of map to be used offline, only thing is then you wont get traffic alerts...Originally posted by amts View Post

The map system is trash anyway. I never use mine. Google maps on the phone is 10x better.
